No. Jiu Jitsu is a great way to get into better shape. Your stamina and fitness level will gradually improve as you train. There is no true way to be in shape for Jiu Jitsu without doing Jiu Jitsu.
Yes! We offer a free introductory class to give you a taste of Jiu Jitsu and see if it’s a good fit for you. Just show up, sign the waiver, and have fun. We encourage you to participate to get a true feel, but if you would like to watch that is fine too.

Live rolling is where you practice the techniques you learned against a resisting partner in a controlled environment. There is no striking.
We encourage rolling as it’s a crucial part of learning Jiu Jitsu and making your technique effective in real life situations, but you can opt out or go at a lighter pace whenever you’d like! You can often find someone to continue drilling with if that is your desire.
